VOA To Air Live TV and Radio Broadcast with OAS Secretary General Insulza


Friday, 15 July at 2330 UTC, Insulza will speak about the challenges and benefits of hemispheric integration

The Secretary General of the Organization of American States (OAS), José Miguel Insulza, headlines the 7th lecture in the monthly Lecture Series of the Americas (Cátedra de las Américas), on Friday, 15 July at the San Martín de Porres University in Lima, Peru. Insulza, a former Chilean Interior Minister who was elected to the top OAS post on 2 May 2005, will talk about "Hemispheric Integration: An Overview of Challenges and Perspectives."

An expert panel will convene following Insulza's presentation, featuring Michael Shifter, Vice President for Policy at the Inter-American Dialogue; José Antonio García Belaunde, Advisor to the Andean Community of Nations; Rafael Roncagliolo of IDEA International; and Irene Klinger, Coordinator of the Lecture Series.

OAS Secretary General Insulza will take questions from the media and the general public immediately after his presentation.
