Grammy winner and R&B pop star Mýa says she thoroughly enjoyed her visit to VOA and her interview with Border Crossings host Larry London. After recording the show she said there were “lots of laughs, fun and inquiries!”

The D.C native, whose full name is Mýa Marie Harrison, dished on her debut with the DC Tap Fest, a tap dancing event that took place in Washington from March 21st to the 24th. The multi-talented singer and actress started her career as a dancer before shifting to music.

When asked about her interview with Larry London, she said, “he was very supportive of my involvement with DC Tap Fest, and made the interview very fun.”

In addition to her Grammy in 2002, Mýa’s single It’s All About Me sold more than a million copies. She’s also appeared in several films, including Chicago.

Mya, who is currently working on her 8th album, performed one song from her latest CD K.I.S.S., as well as Take A Picture, a number she co-wrote with Pink for her Moodring CD, and a Chaka Khan song called Sweet Thing.

Her interview with Larry is set to air on Border Crossings in May.
