Vietnamese-American singing sensation Viennie V says she was nervous Monday when she did an interview with Border Crossings
’ host Larry London.
The Los Angeles-based pop star performed two numbers, Remember Me
and For You
, from her new album For You
. She also talked to Larry about her desire to work with Taylor Swift, Christina Aguilera, Far East Movement, and even Madonna.
After the Border Crossings appearance she posted a note on her Facebook page
: “Had a nice interview with Larry London this morning at Voice of America. I was so nervous! Now it's time to head back to the airport and go back to sunny California!”
Viennie also revealed something to Larry about the long road to stardom. “It’s hard for Asian-American women to break into the music industry,” she said.
Fortunately, Viennie’s dedication has clearly paid off.
Her song “For You” is currently # 47 on Billboard’s top-40 airplay chart. Although she hasn’t toured in Asia, her songs dealing with love, relationships, and heartbreak have been a huge hit at venues throughout the United States. She recently returned from the APAHM 2012 tour throughout the East Coast where she collaborated with KPop star Jay Park and the band DUmbfounded.
