VOA’s large radio audiences in Africa can now tune in to a new program: Let’s Talk.

Let's Talk is an interactive discussion program about lifestyle issues. Show host Sunday Shomari examines what is on everyone’s mind -- from social media and mobile technology, to online dating and arranged marriages, and much more.

Sunday collects audience questions and comments via social media, and from listeners who can also email letstalk@voanews.com. He is joined each week by a selection of guests who offer their opinions and personal experiences. There is a lot to talk about, and Sunday invites everyone to join him in the conversation.

“This is a great show for our listeners – we think they’ll really enjoy identifying with the everyday issues that we raise, laughing along with the guests, and contributing their own experiences. We cover enough heavy news at VOA – this show is a light-hearted antidote to that, something interactive and fun” says English to Africa’s Service Chief Sonya Laurence Green.

A native of Tanzania, Let’s Talk host Sunday Shomari began his career in journalism at the independent Television and Radio One and the Tanzania School of Journalism in Dar es Salaam. He started out as a broadcaster for VOA’s Swahili Service in 2008, where he worked primarily on entertainment, youth and news programs. He recently joined VOA’s English to Africa Service to develop this new radio show.

Launched April 28th, Let’s Talk replaces the radio program Inquiry. Check out Sunday and his new interactive program on the radio Mondays from 1730-1800 UTC, or online at http://www.voanews.com/archive/lets-talk/latest/672/4074.html.
