The Voice of America Studio Tour is a behind-the-scenes look at live broadcasting in radio, television, and the Internet in several of our 45 languages.  Tours are guided with audio and video features, and last 45 minutes.

Tours are conducted in English.  Tour versions in Spanish and Mandarin Chinese are available upon request in advance.
A special kid's version of the tour is also available for families and school groups upon request.

Metro
L'Enfant Plaza Metro (Yellow, Green, Blue, and Orange lines)
Take the 7th Street/Maryland Ave. exit and walk east to VOA's entrance on Independence Avenue, between 3rd and 4th Streets.
 
Federal Center Southwest Metro (Blue & Orange lines)
Exit onto 3rd Street, turn left and walk three blocks to Independence Avenue. Turn left onto Independence. VOA's entrance is in the middle of the block, between 3rd and 4th Streets.
Security Screening
All bags and visitors will be screened. Visitors should plan to arrive 10 minutes before their scheduled tour. Avoid bringing unnecessary belongings. Weapons and sharp objects are prohibited.  The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) requires visitors and guests entering all federal facilities, including the VOA building, to present a valid US federal or state-issued picture ID, such as a driver's license, passport or state-issued ID. A non-US citizen is required to provide their passport. The building guards cannot accept other documents or waive these requirements.

Historic Murals @ VOA



VOA’s headquarters is home to a series of historic murals commissioned by the U.S. government to depict the Social Security Act and other New Deal programs enacted in response to the Great Depression.  Lithuanian-born artist Ben Shahn was selected in 1940 to paint the most prominent of the murals.  The art is part of the VOA Studio Tour.
