The Republic of Cameroon holds its presidential election on October 7, 2018. In addition to the current president who has been in office since 1982, a number of other candidates are on the ballot.
The VOA French to Africa language service has provided extensive coverage in advance of this election, including the unrest by separatists in the English-speaking part of Cameroon.
