Grammy-nominated singer Mika, who is currently on an acoustic tour of the United States, set some time aside to talk about his new CD Origin of Love during an interview with Border Crossings host Larry London recently.

Born in Beirut, Lebanon as Michael Holbrook Penniman, Jr., Mika has lived in Paris and London, where his love for music began to shine. The multi-talented singer started writing music at the age of seven. His songs have been described as passionate and heartfelt.

Having won three World Music Awards in 2007, as well as a BRIT Award in 2008, Mika has attracted international recognition. Asked by Larry about the highlight of his career, Mika responded, “From performing for 16 people at a bar, to a show in front of 50,000 people, they have all been special to me.”

During his interview, the singer/songwriter said he enjoys being in the stoplight at the moment. With his record sales reaching close to 10 million, Mika continues to make music and sing his heart out, while proving every time that he is in fact made for the musical stage.

His well-known single, Grace Kelly, which debuted in January of 2007, is winning the hearts of many, and reached number one on the UK Singles Chart that same month.

A televised edition of the show airs in the coming weeks, with the pop star singing some of the singles from the new record, including Underwater.
