Join us on Talk 2 America on Wednesday, 19 December, when we meet explorer Jon Bowermaster as he prepares to take a kayak on a five-week journey into the ice-packed Weddell Sea of Antarctica.
On his trip, Bowermaster will join a team of scientists, navigators, and photographers to follow the fast-changing boundaries of the (500-mile) Larsen Ice Shelf. The team will collect ice samples, look for signs of pollution, gather aerial footage, and survey the health and populations of local penguins and other wildlife.
He will also discuss with us the recent international rescue effort in which he participated that saved passengers of the ship that sank off the coast of Antarctica after hitting an iceberg.
E-mail us early at email@example.com, join the chat live, or both – whatever works best for your schedule. We look forward to hearing from you. You can check our Talk 2 America page for information on upcoming shows, photos, and links, as well as transcripts and links from previous chats.
