A plane crash on a mountain in the Himalayas in northern Nepal left 15 people dead, according to the Xinhua news agency and other news organizations.
The Agri Air aircraft carrying 21 people crashed as it tried to land near Jomsom airport, which is considered to be one of the most dangerous airstrips in the world, according to Xinhua.
"I would like to convey my deep condolences to the families of those who have lost their lives in the accident," Xinhua quoted S.M. Krishna, India's external affairs minister, as saying in a statement. "Our thoughts and prayers are with the families of those who have lost their near and dear ones."
The six survivors were flown to the city of Pokhara nearby for treatment, Voice of America reports.
